hi there!

BIO by DAMIEN:

Greetings. Im Damien Fahey and Im on television (I know, I dont know how this happened either). I grew up in Massachusetts and always wanted my job to include music in some way. When I was 14 I emptied my entire savings account and bought stereo equipment to build a mock radio station in my bedroom. My parents were pissed, but I felt I just had to do it. After spending hours and hours alone in my bedroom with my radio station, I lost all social skills, but I received an on-air job at a local radio station where I was a DJ for four years. Then I got into Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts and received another part-time radio gig at Kiss 108 in Boston. After working there for three years, MTV came to the station to audition for the next VJ. I started at the Beach House in New Jersey during the summer of 2002 and have been on board ever since. I love music and talking about music and making music. I also have to give a shout-out to my Boston homey, Conan OBrien! Im a very big fan. Thanks for watching. Thanks for caring.

OFFICIAL BIO:

One afternoon when he was twelve, Damien Fahey got inspired. No, it wasn't unscrambling the dirty channels on the cable boxhe was watching a live radio simulcast on CSPAN, which included all the inner workings of the broadcast. Without his parents' permission, he bought $400 worth of electronics and built his own "pretend" radio station in his room where he recorded his shows on tapes for well over a year. At fifteen, he took a visitor's tour of WMAS, a local radio station in Massachusetts, and nabbed an internship during the tour, thus, beginning his career in radio broadcasting. He got his first job ever at WMAS working every other Saturday, on what they call the graveyard shift spinning adult contemporary music. In order to get the job he had to lie about his age and deepen his voice for he was too young to work. This was the first of many radio shifts he endured before going off to Northeastern University.

Aggressively searching for a full-time on-air radio job, Damien came across an MTV casting search in May 2002 at KISS 108, a local Boston radio station where for 3 years he was working a part-time on-air shift. After some disappointing auditions under his belt, Damien decided to try his luck with MTV. Damien wowed MTV executives so much with his down-to-earth attitude and his knowledge of music that the channel hired him and that summer he became a staple at MTV's Shore Thing in Seaside Heights, NJ.

Over the summer, Damien showed that he was able to handle the heat at MTV's summer house as he hosted his own show, Prime-time Players, co-hosted TRL and co-hosted numerous MTV summer specials. Currently, Damien is adding his charisma to MTV's highly popular daily show, TRL, as well as MTV specials, which include Countdown to the 2002 MTV VMA and End of Summer Countdown. He has interviewed celebrities like Vanessa Carlton, Joey Fatone, Heath Ledger, Shakira, Eve and the Crocodile Hunter.

In his spare time, Damien enjoys mountain biking, playing his drums, walking in Central Park, and going to concerts. His favorite bands are The Dave Matthews Band, Incubus, Doves, ColdPlay, and U2. He also likes to chill out sometimes and relax to jazz music. Though it may sound hokey, his parents are his best friends and "the greatest people on the entire planet." His mom knew from the minute he was born that he was going to be a star.

As a Communications Major at Bostons Northeastern University, Damien Fahey performed as an on-air personality at the number one rated station in Boston, Kiss 108fm. Damien heard of a nationwide casting search for MTVs next VJ in February of 2002. Ever challenging his creative abilities Damien decided his seven years of on-air radio experience and love of music would be well matched with MTV. After careful consideration and planning on the part of television executives, MTV found Damiens wealth of musical knowledge and extraordinary personality a perfect fit for what has been the flagship show of the network, TRL (Total Request Live). In addition, after a mere six-months, Damien has secured his own show called, Video Clash.

Damien Fahey was met with many challenges when he first started on MTVs Summer 2002 Shore Thing. Upon only two weeks of being a correspondent to TRL, MTV was confident enough in Damiens ability to go it alone and host the show by himself. The shows were a success and highly praised by executive programmers, producers and fans who tuned in on a regular basis. Damien Fahey has since added his unique style and sense of humor to the highly popular TRL, as well as MTVs specials including, Countdown to the 2002 VMAs, End of Summer Countdown, and MTVs New Years Eve Pajama Party. He has also interviewed a diverse range of celebrity talent including, Mariah Carey, Avril Lavigne, 50 Cent, Matthew McConaughey and Shakira.

While being raised by educators in Western Massachusetts, Damien Fahey knew from early on that he wanted to be heard. At the age of twelve, Damien managed to empty his entire savings account to purchase stereo equipment for his makeshift radio station that he was building in his room. After practice on his own and at the age of fourteen he was granted an internship at a local radio station. Within a few months Damien Fahey was given a part-time job as a weekend personality while still managing four years of high school. Damien's relentless passion for developing a life long career was met with an opportunity to advance eighty radio markets to Kiss 108fm as he left for college in Boston in the fall of 1999.

Damiens highly motivated ambitions coupled with an intense creative background, have brought him to a level of success that is highly admired and respected by his contemporaries.
