because of the really cool special effects for that time period.

Q: As a child, what did you want to be "when you grew up?"
A: Wow. A bunch
of things. A detective, FBI officer, construction worker, truck driver, comic book editor, professional wrestler and apparently
a "fan." My dad used to work in this restaurant with a fan on the ceiling and I would tell him that thats what I wanted to
be. That was the first sign that I wasnt a normal human being.

meet your best friend?
A: At a self-help seminar.

Q: Tell us about your first kiss: who, when, where?
A:
Wow. My god! It was with a girl from the neighborhood and I was 12 or 13. She came over and we sat on my bed and she told
me that she wanted to prepare me for the dating world. So, we kissed and I felt really cheap.

A: Being blessed
with so many things including the most amazing, supportive parents, girlfriend and friends.

A: 1980s pop music.

Q: What were you doing the day you found out you were going to
be an MTV VJ?
A: Well, I auditioned in the basement of the Boston radio station I used to
work at and afterwards I had this strange certainty that this was something that was meant to happen. Later, after leaving
the station, I was driving in my car back to my apartment and I was behind a car at a red light. For some odd reason I read
the license plate and it said "4624 VJ." If this is your license plate, I just want you to know that it was then that I realized
that I was going to be on MTV.

Q: Do you
remember what your first day at MTV was like?
A: Ha! Oh my God. I went on TRL with Carson
and was extremely nervous because I had watched him for years and really respected him as a VJ and as a credible music source.

Q: What advice do you have for people trying to become actors,
musicians, hosts?
A: I would tell people that having a really great sense of self by virtue
of being true to who you are is the beginning to becoming successful. There are a few people who attain fame and fortune and
completely lose themselves and who they are in material objects. That to me isnt success. I remember meeting Carlos Santana
and was really taken back at how much of a normal guy he was. He is a true icon in music and his music will still be relevant
30 years from now, but this guy walks around without expensive jewelry or fancy cars and still maintains an image of success.
Its because complete happiness comes from inside you, and the sooner you realize this the sooner you can appreciate yourself.
So, just follow your heart and be true. That to me is the true secret to being successful. Go for it. It's worth the struggle.

Q: What's the best/worst thing about being a VJ on MTV?
A: Best thing is free clothes, concerts, CDs, meeting my favorite artists and the worst thing is hangovers with
an 8:00 a.m. call time.

A: Pre-puberty: The Jon Stewart Show. Puberty: The
GRIND.
